MIICO considers land access as crucial for smallholder producers to ensure equitable distribution of land, boost agricultural productivity, and enhance rural livelihoods. This programme empowers marginalised communities, promotes social justice, and contributes to poverty reduction. Secure land rights encourage investment in land and sustainable resource management, leading to long-term rural prosperity.
Related Projects
This is a 3-year project (2024–2026) funded by DKA/Welthaus from Austria. It aims to secure land rights for smallholder producers in Chunya, Makete, and Nkasi Districts to improve food security. The project focuses on enhancing land governance systems, promoting community engagement, and advocating for land rights, with a special focus on women and youth.
